This parade marched for the first time on March 17, 1762—fourteen years before the Declaration of Independence. The St. Patrick's Day Parade remains true to its roots by not allowing floats, automobiles and other commercial aspects in the parade and today is the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Therefore, it definitely wasn't as exciting as a Mardi Gras parade, in fact, the people who we told we were going to the parade asked if we were Irish, as if that is the only reason to go. There were hundreds of bagpipes, men in skirts, police men, political men, and my favorite part was the hundreds (if not a few thousand) of Boy and Cub Scouts. Elijah slapped many of their hands, but his favorite part was climbing on the barricade and looking for horses (there were none).

Claire enjoyed the barricade too.

Eating green bagels from H&H.

Eating each other.

Don't you love our view out the window? The crumbling cement and barred windows are quite picturesque.
