This is what Sybil's wrist has looked like for several months

We decided not to have Elijah in club soccer this year. He is playing for the school team.

Here are the girls waiting for practice to start. 

Iris was at tennis and Claire is high on the hill, rolling down.

Our annual trip to Camp Lo Mia. 

David was hiking Mt Rainier but the kid and I went up.

We slept under the stars. Claire and I saw the most brilliant shooting star I've ever seen. 

The Nature Club:

IRIS = 9

This girl has been 9 for a few weeks now. 

When I asked her what she thought about being 9, she said, 

"That's kinda complicated."

Book and Movie: Harry Potter, A Dog's Purpose

Thing to do: play with Porfirio, tennis, play with dolls
Subject in school: science, history, English
Animal: dog, horse, owl, narwal, whale, penguin, dolphin
Time of day: sleeping time and morning time when there is no school
What do you want to be when you grow up? An astronomer. The first girl on the moon.

She had a sleepover with 3 of her school friends and her cousins.

They went swimming and then we went on a mall scavenger hunt.

The other groups were Claire and Esiewho were accompanied by David:

Elijah and Quinn had a good time with the scavenger hunt too. They took videos of their "Howdley Doodleys" and the people looked very skeptical. Elijah claims that they would have won if he didn't have to describe extensively in Spanish what they were doing to one of their victims.

W ended in Claire's where they had to display merchandise and everyone got a treat.

Iris got fake glasses, which I think is akin to the trend of hair dying to the color gray.

Claire got fake nails. She sent this hilarious picture to a friend. 

She was convinced the nails would cure her nail-biting. 

They didn't last the night.

First Day and Last Day

Elijah = 8th

Claire=6th

Iris=4th

None of these three changed schools this year.

It was also my last day of summer semester. 

I just aced my final and now I'm on to reading for next semester which starts on Monday.

Sybil First Day Update

Ok. I just picked her up from school and she said she wants to go back "a million of times."
My guilt is gone.
For today.

By the way. David told her to hit four people at school today because she's four.
She agreed
but didn't follow through
thank goodness.

Sybil's First Day!

This is at the Back to School Bash last week.

Sybil loved the jewelry in the classroom.

She has the same teacher that Claire did in Pre-K: Señora Contreras.

And I bawled. 

Like, a lot.

And for a long time.

I'm getting teary-eyed right now.

That's my last baby.

Part of it is that I'm dealing with guilt about going back to school. 

But I'm going to think happy thoughts right now.

Elijah likes scrimmaging more than the training part of soccer.
