Big 2 weeks

As always, so much has happened in the past 2 weeks. The biggest news is that I finally started my first NP job, which I like a lot. And what I was not anticipating is that I did not become the worst mom in the world the same day I started a full-time job. I'm actually off by 4pm, home by 5, and then do my charting while Synil is at soccer.
Night at the gym:
Iris' big news is that she quit her job because there just aren't enough hours in the day.
Junior Homecoming:
Last weekend, I took a quick trip to AZ for my Uncle Lee's funeral. He was the first of my dad's siblings to pass away. The last picture with all 7 siblings
The cousins who were able to attend:
My great aunt Helen said that she loves attending funerals because that's when you get to know the deceased the best. I totally agree-- I think it was Helen's husband's funeral when one of his friends outed him as a closet smoker. I heard all kinda of stories from my extended family that I had forgotten, like how Sybil Udall's father built the railroad in southern AZ. When the dynamite they set hadn't exploded, instead of sending one of his underlings to check on it, he went and was blown up.
The funeral was in a historical church where my mom saw my dad for the first time while she was visiting her grandparents. My dad was giving his homecoming talk, and she knew she would marry him. It's also where my Aunt Laurie gave her farewell talk on her way down to her mission in Chile, and the whole family was mad that she didn't stay and marry Terry (whom she married decades later) because even her uncle Pres. Spencer Kimball said she should stay and marry him. It's also the building where Elijah was baptized.
I told the brothers I wanted to get a pic of them wrestling, a hark back to their younger years:
That's my Aunt Tisa in the wheelchair. She made the baby blanket that I have slept with my whole life. I used to consider it my best friend, and as a kid, I always dreamed I'd be buried with it (which I still want). I brought it to show her and told her I had been teased for several decades for sleeping with it, but I have loved it forever. She wrote me a note on her whiteboard: "Caroline, you used to be cute, and now you are beautiful." She was diagnosed with ALS in the Spring, so that may be the last communication I have with her.
While I was gone, David did what he does every Saturday--went for a hike.
Sybil had a 5k night run where she got 3rd place for females and 6th place overall.

Claire took a solo trip to Valley of the Fallen, where Franco was originally buried along with several other leaders who died during the Spanish Civil War.
And here's my boy rocking it out at Renaissance Fest.
